Office 365 Fun Fact

Office 365 Fun Fact

Microsoft offers No guarantees

Microsoft doesn’t guarantee access to your data, or its Office 365 online services.  But don’t take our word for it, here is what Microsoft has to say in subsection b, under Section 6 of the Office 365 agreement:

“We strive to keep the Services up and running; however, all online services suffer occasional disruptions and outages, and Microsoft is not liable for any disruption or loss you may suffer as a result. In the event of an outage, you may not be able to retrieve Your Content or Data that you’ve stored. We recommend that you regularly backup Your Content and Data that you store on the Services or store using Third-Party Apps and Services.”

Protecting your Office 365 data is your responsibility

Microsoft Office 365 is a good service and is often less expensive than owning your own email server. The main issue is that companies believe their cloud data is secure and protected. Fortunately, you can benefit from knowing your cloud data needs to be secured and backed up.

Many services exist to backup and protect your Office 365 data.

Here some important questions:

  • Do you need legal hold and e-discovery?
  • Are you required to retain email for a certain period?
  • Do you need spam and virus filtering?
  • Do you need to backup tasks, one drive, share point in addition to email?

Once you have these questions answered, you will be ready to choose an Office 365 backup solution that is right for your company.
